Malki-Tzeddek and Yeishua: Understanding The Order of Melki-Tzeddek

Malki-Tzeddek is one of Scripture’s most mysterious figures, but Hebrews uses him for a very specific purpose. This article examines Genesis 14, Psalm 110, and Hebrews 5–7 to explore what it means for Yeishua to be a priest “according to the order of Malki-Tzeddek.” It considers the importance of genealogy, the meaning of “without father, without mother,” and why Hebrews describes Malki-Tzeddek and Yeishua in terms of likeness rather than identity. The article also explains why the text does not require a formal priestly organization called the “Order of Malki-Tzeddek” and how Malki-Tzeddek functions as a biblical pattern for Yeishua’s priesthood.
