Was the Last Supper the Pesach Memorial Meal?

This study examines whether Yeishua’s final supper with his talmidim was the official Pesach memorial meal or a special gathering held shortly before Passover. Although the Synoptic biographies use Passover-related language in describing the preparations, the details of the meal itself, Yochanan’s chronology, the use of ordinary bread, the absence of a Passover offering, and the actions of the religious authorities all point toward a pre-Passover setting. The evidence suggests that Yeishua hosted a farewell and commissioning banquet—something resembling a graduation ceremony—in which he prepared his talmidim for his arrest, death, resurrection, and their future responsibilities.
