When Hatred Twists Hebrew

Antisemitism often depends upon distorted words, mistranslated passages, and manipulated symbols. This study examines several Hebrew terms—including qeren, aph, bachar, segullah, and Yehudi—that have been twisted to portray Jewish people negatively. It also explores the Magen David and the kippah, showing how symbols and clothing once used to isolate or humiliate Jews were transformed into expressions of faith, identity, perseverance, and honor.
